In recent months, downtown Palm Springs has been reshaped by Braun with his development in front of the Palm Springs Art Museum that includes the Kimpton Hotel “The Rowan” and the future Virgin Hotel. Braun was intrigued by Černý’s work and funded the logistics of this ambitious project.

On March 29th, the renown Quantum Physicist turned sculptor, Julian Voss-Andreae personally unveiled his latest monument right here in Palm Springs. Developer Michael Braun of Grit Palm Springs felt that Voss-Andreae’s vision would be a perfect match for his company’s commitment to art in public spaces and to bring an international caliber of talent to downtown Palm Springs.

Colette Miller, the artist behind one of Los Angeles' most Instagrammed murals, created a Palm Springs rendition of the wings. The wings are part of Miller's Global Angel Wings Project, which she started in 2012 "to remind humanity of our higher energy and higher selves," she told The Desert Sun.

A "graffiti art park" is the latest project to be commissioned by the arts commission. The park will be on the corner of Belardo Road and Museum Way in Palm Springs, at the proposed Virgin Hotel site. Ryan Campbell is one of the artists to graffiti for the commission, with his piece "Line Segments" located in 'the pit'.
